     Ever wanted to explore an infinite galaxy discovering new planets, flora, fauna, and alien lifeforms? With the interactive, cross platform-compatible game No Man's Sky, you can do all of that and more!      As an avid gamer myself, I have personally played this game a number of times, and I've loved every part of it. There is always something new to discover, and I find myself virtually wandering the universe for hours on end. The independent studio, Hello Games,  based in Guildford and Cambridge in the UK, is the reason No Man's Sky exists, and they have since grown in size since its release.  If you're on social media at all, you know about filters and the way they can distort your image in a variety of ways. Many are aimed at being goofy, inciting laughter among viewers, but there are plenty that aim to make the user look more attractive based on societal standards. Taking selfies is normally a lighthearted activity, but people don't realize the actual harm these filters can have on the mental health of those that use them.  One such filter is called the "Bold Glamour" filter, and it can be found all over TikTok. In fact, the hashtag associated with it has been used over 364 million times on various posts. The filter itself is meant to make you look glamorous, but it instead sets unrealistic beauty standards that the average user cannot achieve. TOPIC: ABOUT ME

       Hey everyone! My name is Shawnee, and I am an accounting major! I know that probably doesn't sound super thrilling, but something about balancing ledgers just excites me! I am taking this course as it is required for my degree, but I am honestly looking forward to learning how to market myself better in this ever-growing world of technology and social media. I think half of the work is how the world perceives you, whether that be employers or otherwise.      Outside of schoolwork, I enjoy playing a variety of video games, socializing with friends, and cuddling up with my three cats and husband to watch horror movies (at least when it's not dark out). Having moved across the country from Michigan in October, I also love exploring different areas in Oregon! Going to the coast is always a great way to spend any day, and I've found there are so many beautiful places to go and see here in the beaver state!
